Bullen Ultrasonics Awarded U.S. Patent for Innovative Technology
The issuance of this patent solidifies Bullen’s commitment to continuous improvement and being a leader in providing precision machining services.
EATON, OH – May 6, 2025 – Bullen Ultrasonics, a globally recognized pioneer and leader in ultrasonic machining, is proud to highlight the issuance of U.S. Patent No. US 12,294,172 B2, granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office. This patent recognizes our company’s groundbreaking innovation in electrical connection systems and methods.
The newly issued patent assigned to Bullen Ultrasonics, Inc is thanks to our innovative team, and awarded to inventors Bradley Jeffries, Senior Design Engineer, and Eric Norton, Research and Early Innovation Manager. This achievement marks a significant milestone in Bullen’s commitment to continuous innovation and delivering value through advanced engineering and proprietary processes.
“This patent is a testament to the hard work and creativity of our team,” said Tim Beatty, President. “It underscores our dedication to solving complex challenges and developing technologies that push the industry forward.”
The product invented by the Bullen team happened out of necessity. Bullen has a customized automated cell to support ultrasonic machining of Ceramic Matrix Composites for the Aerospace industry. Ultrasonic machining uses harsh abrasives that can be corrosive to many automated components. We needed a way to quickly connect our components to power and air without so much manual intervention. Brad and Eric realized that a solution for this didn’t yet exist in the marketplace, so they worked together on this – what they have dubbed a “quick connect.”
Our hope for the future is that this invention allows us to design and manufacture custom applications to be used in the automation industry.
