Meet Tim Beatty, President
Tim Beatty
Tim Beatty is president of Bullen Ultrasonics, a global leader in the precision machining of advanced ceramics, glass and specialty materials using proprietary ultrasonic and laser-based technologies. As a third-generation leader of the family-owned business, Tim directs the company’s executive team, leads the corporate strategy and oversees global business development. Under his leadership, Bullen has significantly expanded its technical capabilities and customer base, while reinforcing a culture grounded in trust, respect and open communication.
Since becoming president in 2014, Tim has guided Bullen through a period of substantial growth, tripling its revenue and expanding its workforce to 140 employees. He has overseen major capital investments in automation, including the development of fully integrated robotic and data automation systems and the launch of Bullen’s proprietary MicroLucent® laser machining platform. These innovations have helped position Bullen at the forefront of ceramic matrix composites (CMC) machining and advanced manufacturing for the semiconductor, micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS), aerospace, defense, transportation/automotive and medical industries. Bullen now has the largest concentration of ultrasonic machining equipment in the world, all of it custom-designed and built in-house.
Tim began his career at Bullen in 1999, working in customer service before moving on to other roles in operations and business development. Most notably, he led the company’s successful expansion into Southeast Asia, managing the construction and operation of a new plant in Suzhou, China, located northwest of Shanghai. He grew the business division to a $10M product line of high-quality silicon components and a $5M customer base in the semiconductor industry. He also oversaw the division’s successful sale of its Suzhou assets in 2008 to Silfex, Inc., a division of Lam Research Corporation.
Tim briefly stepped away from Bullen in 2009 to serve as executive director of Christ United Methodist Church in Fairfax Station, Va., where he applied business principles to improve operations and grow membership and managed a $20M building project. This experience reflects Tim’s enduring belief in values-driven leadership. Today, he frequently speaks on business leadership, company culture and integrating faith and values into the workplace, including past engagements through Global Leadership Partners.
Tim is deeply committed to community and global impact. He has led Bullen’s philanthropic partnerships with organizations such as the Aruna Project (an anti-trafficking initiative in India), World Hope International, the HIT Foundation (affordable housing in Ohio) and Youth for Christ. He also serves on the boards of FastLane, Ohio’s Manufacturing Extension Partnership through the University of Dayton Research Institute, and All Service Glass.
Tim holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Anderson University in Anderson, Ind., and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Dayton. He resides in Cincinnati, Ohio.
