Meet John Liddy, Vice President
John Liddy
Vice President of Operations
John Liddy is the vice president of operations at Bullen Ultrasonics, a global leader in the precision machining of advanced ceramics, glass, and specialty materials using proprietary ultrasonic and laser-based technologies. In this role, John oversees Bullen’s core manufacturing functions, including production, quality, engineering and technology development. He leads efforts to drive operational excellence, mentor emerging leaders and implement systems that improve efficiency, reduce costs and position Bullen for long-term growth.
Since joining Bullen, John has played a central role in advancing several mission-critical initiatives. He led the maturation of Bullen’s MicroLucent™ technology, a proprietary process for ultra-precise machining of transparent materials, and later assumed responsibility for the Technology Development Center and Quick Turn Group. He also served as director of engineering, where he helped streamline innovation pipelines and accelerate the transition of new technologies into production. Now as vice president of operations, he is helping the company adopt industry-standard performance metrics like OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), formalize its continuous improvement efforts and integrate machine-level data into smarter, more responsive manufacturing systems.
A seasoned technical and operational executive, John brings over 25 years of manufacturing leadership experience, including nearly three decades with The Timken Company and TimkenSteel. He has a deep background in high-volume automotive production, process design, advanced machining and continuous improvement. At TimkenSteel, he rose through the ranks from controls engineer to plant manager, ultimately overseeing a large-scale CNC machining facility that produced millions of precision components annually. Among his achievements: implementing real-time plant data systems, deploying low-cost robotic automation and leading multi-line CNC expansions to meet growing production demands.
John represents Bullen as a voting member of the Preble County Development Partnership and serves as vice president of the board for The Common Good of Preble County, a nonprofit supporting food access, emergency aid and wraparound services.
He holds a B.S. in electrical engineering from The Ohio State University. Outside of work, John is the bass player in a local rock band, The Flannels, and actively contributes to his hometown community through music and volunteer leadership.
