Heather Beatty is the director of employee engagement and development at Bullen Ultrasonics, a global leader in the precision machining of advanced ceramics, glass and specialty materials using proprietary ultrasonic and laser-based technologies. In this role, she leads company-wide efforts to cultivate talent, enhance employee experience and strengthen workforce resilience through apprenticeship programs, mentorship, inclusive initiatives and holistic training. She also spearheads Bullen’s philanthropic initiatives, managing corporate giving to more than 30 local and global organizations annually. Her approach blends employee-driven giving with strategic, long-term partnerships, supporting causes such as affordable housing, mental health, inclusive education and global development.
Since joining Bullen in 2022, Heather has transformed the company’s workforce development strategy through a holistic, human-first approach that blends analytics, emotional intelligence, and deep listening. She has led the launch of apprenticeship programs, introduced mentorship and leadership roundtables and established employee resource groups for veterans and women. Under her leadership, Bullen has implemented innovative training programs, including neuroscience-based “saboteur” workshops, to enhance collaboration, resilience and personal growth across all departments.
In addition to her current role at Bullen, Heather also serves as board president of the Brown Family Foundation, where she leads the family’s long-term philanthropic efforts. In this role, she developed a high-impact giving model focused on 10-year commitments to strategic social ventures, anti-exploitation programs and grassroots-led community change.
Heather’s earlier career was rooted in international development. She held leadership positions at World Hope International, where she facilitated community empowerment programs in Sierra Leone, Cambodia, Haiti and the Philippines. She launched the Adelphe initiative, connecting women across continents through economic support, mentorship and shared resilience. Her work consistently focused on rural development, women’s and children’s welfare and education-based empowerment.
Her unique blend of global development experience, nonprofit leadership and business insight positions her as a dynamic voice in both corporate HR strategy and purpose-driven philanthropy. Heather holds a master’s degree in social work with a concentration in community development from Boston University and an MBA from Anderson University.
